May News

This month we received the fantastic news that we have won three regional category awards with the BSIA! Our team at Meggitt Holbrook Lane in Coventry have won ‘Best Team’, James Barrowman and Marc Pawson have won ‘Outstanding act and Steven Green has won ‘Security Manager of the Year.’ All of the above will be presented with their regional certificates in due course and will now be put forward for the BSIA national awards on 1st July 2020. This is the third consecutive year MAN Commercial have won the BSIA’s regional awards and we can’t wait to see how we do in the nationals. We are extremely proud! Due to Covid-19 the national awards, which are usually held in London, will be an online event.

The Security Industry has been as busy as ever during this challenging time, and MAN Commercial are offering our services to assist on vital contracts for the NHS Supply Chain and Covid-19 Testing Centres. Many of our clients are in the distribution sector, which has experienced its most demanding time ever throughout the past few months.  We are enjoying continually meeting their growing security requirements week by week. We have also renewed several contracts with longstanding clients, as well as being awarded contracts on both permanent and ad-hoc basis.

Covid-19 has brought many challenges to us as a business,  but one of the main areas we have had to adapt is our recruitment and induction process. Strictly following government guidelines has meant we have postponed all non-essential face-to-face meetings and visits to our offices. This has led to us implementing a new, modern and exciting recruitment process using Zoom! remote technology. We have developed this further, and have now implemented online training for new starters which is improving communication and helping our new starters feel familiar with us as a Company even when they can’t meet us in person.

May saw us develop and roll out our first ever company-wide Employee Engagement Survey, which will be invaluable tool for us to collate the opinions and feedback of our 1200 staff across the country when the results are received in June.

Recently we hired a new Compliance Officer to our Head Office team, who since joining has worked on various projects, such as Eco Vardis a platform which allows ratings for corporate social responsibility, sustainable procurement, risk monitoring, audit management and sustainability. In light of this you’ll notice a new addition to our policies via our website – A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, please feel free to take a look.

If visitors were to be permitted at our Head Office, they’d notice new additions throughout our offices to encourage safe working alongside Covid-19 such as signs promoting employees to clean desks, wash hands, encouraging virtual meetings and social distancing, along with our internal office wipe down schedule.  An updated company logo has been brought in to show MAN Commercial Protections adaptation in line with Covid-19 please feel free to take a look on our company websites Home page.

Our platforms are updated on a daily basis. We would love if you could join us on our journey and keep up to date on all our latest news. You can find us at:
