MAN Commercial Protection has demonstrated the power of creating meaningful connections by bringing together Solihull Moors FC and McCracken’s Boxing Gym for an intensive boxing and conditioning session during the club’s pre-season preparations.
Hosted at the renowned McCracken’s Boxing Gym in Tyelsey, Birmingham, the Solihull Moors first-team squad swapped the football pitch for the boxing ring, taking part in a demanding session designed to develop resilience, discipline, focus and mental toughness – qualities that are essential in both football and boxing.
The collaboration was made possible through MAN Commercial’s network and passion for building relationships, with Solihull Moors Foundation Chairman Iain McCallister bringing together Solihull Moors FC and boxer Oscar McCracken to create a unique training experience for the National League side.
Speaking about the session, Iain McCallister of MAN Commercial said:
“Boxing has always been a passion of mine, so being able to connect Solihull Moors FC with McCracken’s to create this experience was something I was delighted to make happen.
“The lads embraced every challenge from the first bell to the final round. It was brilliant to see them step outside their comfort zone and experience the discipline, resilience and focus that boxing demands. Seeing an idea become a reality through collaboration is a great example of how organisations in Solihull and Birmingham can work together.”
Solihull Moors First Team Manager Chris Millington praised the collaboration and the role MAN Commercial played in making it happen: “I remember mentioning to Iain that I wanted the lads to experience a proper boxing gym and a proper conditioning session during pre-season. That was six months ago, and it was fantastic to see it all come together. It simply wouldn’t have happened without Iain bringing everyone together.
“Special thanks to Oscar McCracken and everyone at the gym for their commitment to the session. It was fantastic, and I can’t speak highly enough of the work Oscar and his team are doing.”
Oscar McCracken, of McCracken’s Boxing Gym, added:
“Thank you to Iain McCallister for pulling the strings and making this happen. It was great to have the lads down at the gym and put them through their paces. They worked incredibly hard, embraced every challenge and made it a brilliant session. It was a fantastic link-up, and we’d love to welcome them back in the future.”
MAN Commercial also extends its thanks to Oscar McCracken and the coaching team at McCracken’s boxing gym for delivering an outstanding session and providing an environment that challenged the players in a completely different way.
