24th July is always one to remember, and this year we celebrated International Security Officer’s Day by joining security professionals from across Greater Manchester at the Manchester City Security Council Awards.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the people behind the uniform – the individuals and teams who make a difference every day by keeping our clients, communities and businesses safe. It was also an afternoon that left us feeling incredibly proud of our own people.
We were delighted to see Jamie Walsh, Security Manager at Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre, named Security Manager of the Year. Jamie’s leadership, professionalism and genuine commitment to supporting his team make him a fantastic ambassador for our business, and his profession.
Plus, the entire Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre security team received Highly Commended in the Team of the Year category. Whether they’re delivering excellent customer service, managing challenging situations or ensuring the venue remains safe and welcoming, they consistently work together to deliver the highest standards.
A huge thank you goes to the City Security Council for hosting such a memorable afternoon and for shining a spotlight on frontline security professionals. It was inspiring to hear from Figen Murray OBE, Peter Harrison MBA and Michael Cunningham CBE QPM, whose speeches reinforced the importance of recognising the people at the heart of our industry. Celebrating the winners to a soundtrack of classic Manchester anthems added the perfect finishing touch to an already brilliant event.
We’re incredibly proud of Jamie, the Parrs Wood team and everyone who was nominated. Their achievements reflect the values we strive to uphold across MAN Commercial Protection every day.
