MAN Commercial Protection welcomed representatives from the City Security Council and the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to our 11 Portland Street site in Manchester city centre as part of this year’s International Security Officers’ Day celebrations.

The visit shone a spotlight on our fantastic concierge security team who work to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors every day.

Representatives from the City Security Council, alongside the Security Industry Authority (SIA), visited the site as part of the SIA’s Behind the Badge campaign – an initiative that recognises the people behind the licence and highlights the vital contribution security professionals make across the UK.

During the visit, frontline officers had the opportunity to meet industry leaders, including Peter Harrison and Mike Cunningham, as well as MAN Commercial Protection Directors. The informal site visit gave officers the chance to talk about their careers, daily responsibilities and experiences within the security industry, providing valuable insight into the challenges and rewards of frontline security.

As part of the celebrations, members of the team were presented with certificates of appreciation in recognition of the important role they play.

International Security Officers’ Day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the work of security professionals in all areas and business sectors. While awards are always appreciated, taking the time to thank officers personally and recognise the difference they make can be just as meaningful.
