It’s our birthday month! MAN Commercial Protection celebrated our 28th birthday on the 9th March. So much has changed since we started up back in 1993! We are now a top 20 UK Security Provider employing 1500 staff throughout the UK. Our desire to continually improve, grow and develop makes us a great Company to be part of and our journey just keeps getting more exciting!
We marked our 28th anniversary with some personalised balloons and cakes at Head Office, which everyone really enjoyed!
We revealed last month that we have big plans for expanding our Head Office this year, with the purchase of a second property on Highland’s Court. We are excited to share that we now have the keys to the new building and will soon be commencing work to create the new, extra office space that we need! We have lots of ideas, including a spacious staff break room, fresh new meeting rooms and modern hot desk areas.
International Women’s Day fell on the 8th of this month, and it felt like a good time to have a catch up with a few of our lovely ladies and find out how they feel to be a woman in the security industry.
Lauren, who is our Compliance & Office Manager said “When I first started with MAN Commercial one of my main concerns was being a female in what could be perceived to be a ‘male’ environment. I actually quickly discovered that it is the complete opposite. I feel proud and so empowered to be in my role in the industry I’m in. The security industry to me is one of the most fast paced and fascinating industries to be involved with – male or female- and I’m proud to be a part of it and always will be!”
Chloe, our Recruitment Advisor echoed Lauren’s thoughts, adding “When joining MAN Commercial Protection I was excited to work within the Security industry and bring both men and women into the industry. Being able to work in a diverse environment makes me proud to be part of MAN Commercial and the security industry as a whole.” Both ladies have joined MAN Commercial during the pandemic and have a made a big difference offering additional support in the office during this busy period!
We are delighted to be taking part in the 2021 BSIA and ACS Pacesetters Awards again this year, and this month have been working on putting forward our deserving nominees. Last year was such a challenge for everyone and we are really keen to nominate the many members of our teams who have consistently performed above and beyond, even through times of such uncertainty. We hope to be shortlisted for both Awards ceremonies later in the year.
March is usually the start of our busy events season, but with lockdown still firmly in place in the UK this has been delayed for us. However, with the hopes of restrictions easing in mid-April we have already been approached by many of our long-time partners to secure our services for events throughout late Spring and into the Summer, as well as receiving many enquiries from new clients. Everyone is really raring to go so fingers crossed for a Summer of festivals, sports and live events!
In March we were awarded a large high profile contract with an existing property management client for a number of shopping and entertainment centres through the south east. Work has already starting on mobilisation for a late Spring takeover.
We are also continuing to prepare to start guarding services for one of our large distribution clients on huge new fulfilment centres in the Midlands, which will open fully later in the year.
With continued growth in our keyholding sector we have now recruited additional team members, ensuring that we have 24 hour, 7 days a week dedicated support for our key and alarm response customers.
This month our People & Communications Director Laura started her Maternity Leave, to wish her farewell (for now) we threw a baby shower, once again cake and balloons were involved!
We mentioned in last month’s news update that we have been preparing for a top-secret high profile retail space in London, and can now reveal this is on behalf of our client Amazon, who have begun opening their brand new Amazon Fresh convenience stores. The stores are state-of-the-art cashless experiences which are already proving hugely successful. Our role is to maintain a visual presence at the front of the stores, control crowd queues and access and ensure customer safety at all times.
