December News

Happy New Year from us all at MAN Commercial; we hope you had an enjoyable Christmas even under this year’s difficult circumstances.

For obvious reasons we were not able to celebrate with our usual Christmas parties and events, so we had to get creative to show our appreciation to our colleagues who have worked so hard throughout 2020. A socially-distanced Christmas lunch of pizza and treats was organised for our Head Office team, with the usual Christmas party alcohol and dancing replaced with quizzes and games.

For our officers out in the field we created a special prize draw, with 30 lucky winners being drawn to receive gift vouchers as a Christmas surprise.

Throughout the year, our CEO Iain McCallister has been collecting donations all year from anyone who challenges him to a game of pool – there have been a few! The total raised reached £600! Those of you who have been following us for a while will know that MAN Commercial Protection have been proud sponsors of Hall Green Boxing Club for many, many years, and the money raised will go towards the club’s running costs during lockdown.

2020 was the first New Year’s Eve for many, many years that we did not have Events Teams busy out and about across the country, including at the London Southbank annual fireworks display which unfortunately had to take place without crowds this year. Nevertheless the run up to 2021 has been extremely busy, with our usual events being replaced by mobilisation for new manned guarding contracts due to start the first week in January, including a food distribution location in Fakenham, a new site for an existing client in the transport division and more support for our existing distribution sector customers who are regularly opening new premises due to ever increasing demand.

As has been the case for much of the year, we were also tasked with providing extra support and hours to various existing clients who are part of the NHS Supply Chain, whose workload has increased due to demand for PPE and other critical supplies.

In December we also began working on 8 new NHS Covid-19 testing centre locations across the Midlands – we are proud to be part of this essential project.

Key holding packs

December also saw a large number of new key holding contracts go live from our Head Office, serving customers throughout the Midlands and beyond. Winter is always a busy time for keyholding and alarm response and this has only been amplified due to the lockdown situation. With so many premises unmanned or vacant at the moment, alarm monitoring and site checks can be crucial to preventing crime and vandalism. Similarly, the demand for vehicle escort services have increased, with many high value assignments undertaken throughout the month.

We look to the new year with high hopes for 2021; we were lucky enough to continue our substantial growth as a Company in 2020 and are excited to see what the new year brings for MAN Commercial Protection Ltd.
