MAN Commercial turns 33!
MAN Commercial turns 33!

March marks our 33rd birthday, and we have been celebrating at HQ and out on sites.

A big part of MAN has always been the people who keep things moving every single day, both in the office and out on site.
We decided to celebrate with all our team members who were also born in 1993 – gifting them with a special card and cupcake or Costa voucher so they could choose a treat.

Everyone was delighted to see Traci McCallister and Laura McCarthy from our SLT as they made there way around sites to deliver the surprise.

Iain McCallister Receives Excellent Feedback Following Thought Leadership Summit Appearance

Our CEO Iain McCallister was proud to take part in the 2026 Thought Leadership Summit hosted by the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs).

Invited to be a speaker by Professor Martin Gill, Iain joined Claire Shrosbee of CYS Security on stage for the session “What the Bosses Say” — a discussion bringing together industry leaders to share their perspectives on the developments and challenges shaping the security sector in 2026.

The afternoon featured a strong line-up of speakers, including Michelle Russell, Paul Fullwood and Richard Fogelman, creating an engaging and forward-thinking programme ahead of the OSPAs ceremony later that evening.

Following the event, Professor Martin Gill shared positive feedback on Iain’s contribution:

“Just a short note to thank you for the presentation at the Thought Leadership Summit. We have had excellent feedback about all the talks, and not least your contribution. It was timely to emphasise the importance of recognition — that is what the whole day was about, evening too of course. Good to hear about your own journey too.”

Iain’s address highlighted the importance of recognition within the security industry — not only in celebrating achievement, but in driving standards, morale and long-term sector growth. He also reflected on his own professional journey and the role that leadership, resilience and people-first values have played in the continued success of MAN Commercial Protection.

MAN Commercial Protection is proud to see our CEO contributing to key industry conversations and strengthening relationships that support collaboration and excellence across the sector.

Iain McCallister crowned ‘Business Person of the Year’

MAN Commercial’s CEO Iain McCallister beat off competition from some of the region’s leading entrepreneurs to claim one of the main prizes in front of 540 delegates from the world of industry and commerce at the Signature Awards Birmingham in February.

Iain impressed the high-profile judging panel with the way he has built the UK’s leading privately-owned security business in the heart of the West Midlands, placing a strong ‘people’ culture at its heart.

Next on Iain’s agenda is growing the company through acquisition with MAN Commercial Protection currently in talks with potential targets.

“When you consider the calibre of entrepreneurs I was up against, this is one of the biggest honours I’ve received,” explained Iain.

“I’m rightly proud of the business we’ve built and that’s testament to all the team at HQ and those who represent us out in the field. They all embody the enterprising spirit and high levels of service we want the business to be known for – this award is as much for them as it is for me.”

He continued: “I have been working hard alongside my industry peers to build the reputation of the security industry and being recognised like this helps change the narrative.

Nachural’s Signature Awards continue to serve as a convening point for credible leaders and ambitious organisations to share insight, build connections, and celebrate achievement at the highest level.

With events hosted across multiple UK cities, the competition has gained a national profile for recognising excellence and bringing together the people shaping the future of business.

The evening, which was supported by headline sponsors Bond Wolfe and KLSA PKF, also featured a keynote address from Edwina Dunn, co-founder of dunnhumby and the brains behind the Tesco Clubcard.

Ninder Johal, Founder of the Nachural Group, concluded: “Iain is a fantastic ambassador for the West Midlands and someone who captivates the room when he speaks…it’s like a life lesson on how to do business.

MAN Commercial Protection invited to Houses of Parliament

MAN Commercial Protection was proud to be represented at a recent business roundtable hosted at the Houses of Parliament, attended by CEO Iain McCallister as a guest of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce, of which we are patrons.

The invitation came from MP Saqib Bhatti, who hosted the session bringing together business leaders for open and constructive discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing UK enterprise.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, share perspectives, and connect with like-minded professionals in an iconic setting. Discussions were insightful, forward-thinking and focused on collaboration between business and government.

Speaking after the event, Iain McCallister said it was an honour to take part in the roundtable and thanked Solihull Chamber of Commerce for the invitation and continued support.

MAN Commercial Protection is proud to work closely with regional business partners and organisations that champion collaboration, leadership and positive change for UK industry.

Revenue Boost as Systems Solutions Sales Soar

MAN Commercial Protection has seen orders for systems solutions quadruple over the last twelve months, as we expand our service offering to provide a single-source solution for protecting people, places and property.

Led by CEO Iain McCallister, MAN Commercial believes this appetite to embrace technology will complement the traditional security services we have provided for more than 32 years, such as security guarding, key holding and concierge services.

“Whilst people will always be the heartbeat of our sector, we are aware of how new advancements in security systems can deliver greater efficiencies and potential cost savings for certain scenarios,” explained Daniel Moseley, Technical Director at MAN Commercial Protection.

“That is why we’ve spent the last three years exploring new technology and innovations that we believe can add value to the MAN approach – we now have a comprehensive hybrid guarding model, combining on-site officers with technology, that can be tailored to suit the requirements and resources of all customers.”

He continued: “Orders for our systems are testimony to this, with sales up to £400,000 and the real potential for this figure to double again in 2026.”

MAN Commercial first introduced E-Guard intruder detection systems two years ago, which provide real-time customer alerts for incidents.

Ideal for vacant properties, construction sites and office blocks, the solar-powered units provide a 30-metre diameter motion detection and can be installed in just two hours.

The range of systems is increasing all the time and MAN Commercial Protection has just completed a £200,000 investment in upgrading its 24/7 remote control room, located at our West Midlands headquarters.

From here, control room operatives monitor HD CCTV cameras, motion detectors and alarm systems, providing round the clock monitoring for clients across the UK. They also give clients access to sites remotely, offering preventative protection and the ability to record and analyse any patterns in suspicious behaviour.

An example of where technology is already delivering significant operational improvement and cost savings is Britannia Shopping Centre in Hinckley.

Following a bespoke security review, MAN Commercial Protection identified the solution to streamline the service delivery by reducing the out-of-hours security presence and introducing remote CCTV monitoring, utilising the latest analytic software and enabling remote access to key areas of the Centre via their 24/7 Control Room.

A mobile response service was also implemented in case of incidents, providing complete peace of mind and thousands of pounds of cost savings for the client.

Claus Andersen, Commercial Director of MAN Commercial Protection, picked up the story:

“Every client receives an initial security review, and this explores their requirements and their budgets. From there, we devise the best possible security solution that delivers protection, value and customer satisfaction.

“With the recent investment in technology, we know we are offering innovations that really make a difference.”

He concluded: “We’re not stopping there. Our tech team are currently integrating AI-assisted video analytics, the latest drones and digital site performance management, and launching a new client dashboard to keep track of KPIs and incidents.”

MAN Commercial Awarded Social Value Excellence Award

We are delighted to have been awarded Solihull College’s Bronze Award for Social Value Excellence!

Social Value forms part of Corporate Social Responsibility, and represents the positive impact an organisation makes beyond profit, through contributing to the economy, environment and community. Investment in young people, education, and local community makes a lasting impact by opening doors, building confidence, and helping others to thrive.

MAN Commercial have worked closely with Solihull College for many years now, supporting the education and development of our workforce. Many of our apprentices have studied through the college and we are currently collaborating on a NVQ Level 2 Stewarding qualification to support our Events Team.

Achieving Bronze is an exciting milestone for us, and we’re keen to keep building on this foundation.

Thank you to Solihull College for the partnership and for championing the power of social value.

Christmas Charity Donation

Every Christmas we choose a charity to support for the festive season, and this year we are delighted to present the Solihull Moors Foundation with a donation of £1,500. We raise money throughout the year when visitors and team members take on Iain McCallister for a game of pool, or try their hand at our punchbag machine!

Joe Butler, Scott Langford and the team visited us to collect the donation and of course a pool challenge. We have also donated a family hamper and some toys for their Annual Christmas Community Meal this weekend, which supports families in our local communities.

Joe Butler, Solihull Moors Community Operations Manager said,

“This is an extremely kind and generous gesture, and we honestly cannot thank MAN enough for support of the Moors Foundation.

The £1,500 donation will make a significant difference to our work, particularly within our Disability Programme, where venue hire costs are a major ongoing expense. The funding will go directly towards covering these costs, helping us continue to deliver inclusive sessions for our participants. Thank you again for your generosity and continued support — it is genuinely appreciated.”
