MAN Commercial Protection Hosts Behind the Scenes Event with Solihull Chamber of Commerce

MAN Commercial Protection recently welcomed members of Solihull Chamber to a special Behind the Scenes event, offering an inside look at the people, processes, values and operations that drive our business day to day.

Held at MAN Commercial HQ, the event gave local business leaders the opportunity to learn more about our approach to security services, innovation and customer care. Guests enjoyed a guided tour led by CEO Iain McCallister, who shared insights into day-to-day operations, and also received a bite-size First Aid training session from one of our fully-qualified Training Academy trainers. Huge thanks to our team who gave up their time to make the evening happen, and Solihull Chamber and all attendees for making the event a success! Keep an eye on our social media pages for update on future events here at MAN, and visit our training page for more information on the courses we offer.

MAN Commercial Hosts UKCMA October Full Membership Meeting at HQ

MAN Commercial Protection, a leading UK event security and crowd management company, was proud to host the UK Crowd Management Association (UKCMA) October Full Membership Meeting at our Training Academy in Solihull.

The event brought together professionals from across the crowd management and event security industry for a day of collaboration, insight, and knowledge-sharing. Delegates took part in engaging presentations, breakout sessions, and open discussions focused on strengthening standards and supporting the future of safe event delivery in the UK.

There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with high levels of experience and professionalism on display. We would like to thank the UKCMA community for joining us at MAN HQ and contributing to such a productive and positive session. It was great to see so many familiar faces — including Anne Marie Chebib— and to work closely with Kate James on organising the event.

At MAN Commercial, we are proud to play an active role in supporting collaboration, best practice, and professional development across the UK’s crowd management and event security sector. We look forward to continuing our work with the UKCMA and seeing everyone again soon.

MAN Commercial Achieves NSI Silver Certification

We’re proud to announce that MAN Commercial Protection has been awarded NSI Silver certification for COP 119, the Code of Practice for the Provision of Labour in the Security and Events Sector.

The NSI (National Security Inspectorate) is the UK’s leading independent certification body for the security and fire safety sectors. Achieving Silver status under COP 119 demonstrates that MAN Commercial meets rigorous industry standards for the ethical recruitment, vetting, training, and management of security personnel.

This accreditation recognises our commitment to compliance, transparency, and workforce welfare, ensuring our clients receive services delivered by a professional, reliable, and responsibly managed team.

We’re incredibly proud of this achievement, which reinforces our reputation for quality and integrity across every area of our business.

Transport Safety Officers Shortlisted for National Award

We’re delighted to share that our Transport Safety Officer team has been shortlisted in the “Pioneering Partnerships” category at the upcoming British Transport Police Us at Our Best Awards 2025, taking place in London this November.

This recognition highlights the outstanding collaboration between MAN Commercial Protection and our partners at Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), working together to enhance safety and public confidence across the region’s transport network.

A huge thank you to our dedicated Transport Safety Officers and everyone involved for their continued efforts to make the West Midlands transport system safer and more welcoming for all.

MAN Commercial Protection on the M&A charge as it sets sights on £100m revenue target

MAN Commercial Protection’s Iain McCallister wants to make at least one acquisition and is currently working through a series of potential options thanks to its growing network of intermediaries and brokers.

We are ideally looking to purchase an established security business that boasts in the region of £5m to £30m in annual revenues and specialises in security guarding or systems.

A acquisition will be the first time MAN Commercial has gone down this route in our 32-year history and marks the next stage of expansion and journey towards £100m turnover.

“2025 has been another strong year of organic growth, delivering tailored solutions for our corporate clients and high-profile events, such as the record-breaking Oasis concerts – that was a real privilege to be involved in,” explained Iain McCallister.

“Revenues have passed £67m and we are justifiably proud of this performance, especially considering the volatile economic times we’ve faced. However, to move us forward at the pace we want, we are now turning our attention to acquisitions and we’re already having some interesting conversations.”

He continued: “We have been approached and are currently working with some influential brokers and I fully expect to have at least one deal over the line between now and this time in 2026.

“Our teams work all over the UK so there’s no barrier to geography. We’re more interested in finding the business that shares our values and desire to deliver the best safety solutions in the industry.”

MAN Commercial Protection, which employs nearly 1500 people, offers concierge, CCTV monitoring, security guarding, systems solutions and keyholding services, as well as providing services to high profile boxing, sporting and music events.

The last year has seen us seal our first ‘security’ partnership with a football club in the form of National League team Solihull Moors, whilst we have also supported Solihull Summerfest and will be providing teams to Summerfest on the Beach, which will be held on the beach in Weston Super Mare next June.

We have also continued to invest in our training centre in Solihull and our growing list of courses, provided for both industry professionals and corporate clients keen to get staff up to date with workplace first aid skills or Security Industry Association certifications.

Iain went on to add: “Any acquisition we make must complement our culture, which is family-focused, people-first. This is so important to us, and I want this to continue – so that’s one of the key pre-requisites of any transaction.

“There’s a lot happening in the world of security. New regulations, including Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act) and the proposed Cyber Security & Resilience Bill, will continue to have an impact and there is a shift towards cloud-based monitoring and remote operations, again requiring stronger cybersecurity.”

He concluded: “AI, like in most parts of the business world, will become even more prevalent. I’m sure we’ll see more use of Artificial Intelligence in video analytics, threat detection and predictive alerts. This is progress, but it can also be exploited by attackers. We’re investing heavily in overcoming these increasing cyber threats.”

Management Team Grows

In October, we have been delighted to welcome two experienced security operators to our management team.

Stephen Laver is our new Contract Director for London & South, and joins us with a wealth of experience in operational management and compliance. Gareth Wootton, Contract Manager, comes with a very strong management background and will be taking over some of our biggest clients in the Midlands area.

We are happy to have both new team members on board, they are now busy getting to know their sites, staff and building relationships with our clients.

MAN Commercial Hosts World-Renowned Show Stop Procedure Training

In September, MAN Commercial Protection was proud to host the world-renowned Show Stop Procedure Course at our Training Academy — an immersive, one-day programme designed for tactical decision makers responsible for crowd safety in the sports and entertainment industry.

The accredited course has been developed by and was led by Steve Allen, a global crowd safety and security consultant with over 30 years of experience. Over 25 learners from a variety of different events backgrounds, including 3 MAN Commercial Event Supervisors undertook the course and exam.  Steve’s expertise brought valuable practical insight, scenario-based learning, and a clear framework for implementing effective show stop procedures in high-pressure environments.

At MAN Commercial, we believe that training and preparedness are essential to public safety. By providing access to world-class courses like this, we’re proud to help raise professional standards across the industry. We are looking forward to hosting the course again in the future, and if you would like to find out more click here: Showstop Procedure | Crowd Safety

How We Achieved a Top 2%  ACS Score of 136

We’re delighted to announce that MAN Commercial Protection Ltd has achieved an ACS score of 136 out of 145, placing us in the top tier of security providers in the UK.

This amazing result is a testament to the hard work, professionalism, and dedication of every single member of our team. Here’s a closer look at how we achieved it—and what it means for our staff, our clients, and our future.

The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), run by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), sets the benchmark for quality and professionalism in the private security sector. Every year, approved contractors are assessed against a wide-ranging standard covering things like leadership, staff welfare, training, financial management, service delivery, and more.

Scoring 136 out of 145 is not only a fantastic result—it’s a reflection of how seriously we take every part of our business, from frontline services to behind the scenes operations.

We’ve got big ambitions— our CEO leads from the front—literally. He holds a front-line SIA licence, runs events, checks in with teams daily, and makes sure everyone feels valued. He’s also flying the flag for our industry in the media, at conferences, and through partnerships with industry bodies like the BSIA.

From universities and shopping centres to major festivals and control rooms, our team delivers high-quality, reliable security services across the board. We tailor our services to each site, and our staff are trained, supported, and fully briefed every step of the way.

Assignment Instructions are clear and site-specific, and our 24/7 control room means we’re always ready to respond. During the ACS assessment, client feedback described us as “genuine,” “responsive,” and “professional.”

Our Contract Managers work closely with each client—through regular check-ins, KPI reviews, and feedback sessions. We also carry out exit interviews when contracts end so we can keep learning and improving.

We’re also developing a client dashboard to make service information even easier to access—watch this space!

We use the latest tools to support our operations—mobile patrol tech, CCTV systems, Timegate time and attendance management, and more. Our policies are up to date and accessible via our online portal, and all equipment is PAT-tested annually to ensure safety and compliance.

This is what we’re most proud of. We’ve built a culture where people feel valued, supported, and heard.

  • We promote from within wherever possible.
  • Staff get regular welfare visits and appraisals.
  • We offer a wide range of training through our in-house training centre.
  • Benefits include mental health support, “Perks at Work,” life insurance, and more.
  • Our annual staff survey had a 45% response rate (up 19% from last year!), and feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

We’re also big on recognition—through our Employee of the Month scheme and staff events like our popular Christmas raffle.

We live our values every day. Honesty, trust, client focus, people first. Staff told assessors that “it feels like a family here,” and “if you work hard, it will be noticed.”

There’s always room to grow—and we’ll keep pushing forward, supporting our people, and delivering great service for our clients every single day.

MAN Commercial Protection scores ‘official safety and security partner’ deal with Solihull Moors FC

We are proud to announce that we have signed a three-year deal with National League football club Solihull Moors to provide security for all of its 23 home league games and cup competitions.

This contract will create thirty new part-time roles for stewards, as well as providing specialist SIA-licensed response teams, CCTV control operators, supervisors and a dedicated event manager.

Kicking-off with the Birmingham City home friendly on July 16th for the Arthur Cup, our partnership will also explore how we can work together to raise money for the Solihull Moors Foundation.

“We have a rich history of supporting high profile boxing and sporting events but have never before entered into a partnership with a football club – it seems fitting that the first one is with our hometown club Solihull Moors,” explained Iain McCallister, CEO and founder of MAN Commercial Protection.

“Chairman Darryl Eales and I have known each other for some time and have started to forge closer ties through our joint involvement with the Solihull Chamber of Commerce. We got talking about next season’s security arrangements and how we would look after it, including some high-profile fixtures with big away followings. In short, the partnership made perfect sense.”

He continued: “We are keeping training local too, with the 30 new part-time stewards we’re planning to recruit obtaining their Stewarding NVQ Level 2 training at Solihull College.”

In addition to the security services, we are excited to have agreed a three-year commercial deal with ‘the Moors’, becoming sponsor of the East Stand, which will be renamed The MAN Commercial Protection Stand in time for the new season.

Darryl Eales, Chairman of Solihull Moors FC, concluded: “We are really pleased to appoint local company MAN Commercial Protection as our Official Safety and Security Partner. They bring so many different skills and so much big event experience to the table yet, most importantly, they are passionate about Solihull and the areas we serve. This was really important for us and, together, I believe we can have an even bigger impact on the place we both call home.”
