July News

Another two new West Midlands contracts began on 1st July; the running of a local authority CCTV Control room and a busy Birmingham city centre office building. Teams of staff from both new sites joined us, and have worked alongside our Contracts Managers to achieve a smooth transfer. We were also pleased to renew several long-standing contracts with customers in July, including for high profile City of London locations.

The Summer months are always jam-packed with Events, keeping our teams busy nationwide. We covered a varied range of events and occasions in July, from the Leamington Spa Cycle race to large Classic Ibiza music events across the UK.

Our busy 24 Control Room took on a large new Keyholding Project, offering response support for cashpoints across the country. This had been a big task for our Keyholding Managers, who are excited to work on such a vast new project.Waj-and-Amin-Centro1.jpg

MAN Commercial Protection were featured in the BDO Global Report of the Top 50 Growth of Birmingham based independent companies in July. MAN have exploded on to the radar as a fast-growing privately owned business thanks to our exceptional growth over the past 4 years. The piece in the BDO report is titled ‘Security With A Friendly Face’ and really emphasises the goal of MAN Commercial to never lose our personal touch no matter how big we grow, and our aim in our 25th year to focus on employee engagement.

Hermes-Rugby1-.jpgJuly 11th was the National Finals of the BSIA Security Officer of the Year Awards, held at the London Park Lane Marriott. Two of our officers already achieved commendation in June, winning Regional Awards so were very excited to attend the National Finals. Unfortunately, neither Officer won the national round in their category as there was stiff competition, but our representatives on the day enjoyed hearing about some truly amazing achievements by officers in our industry.

Our team were out and about weekly in July dropping in on teams nationwide to deliver their special 25th Anniversary Cupcakes. The cakes are going down really well and Traci and Laura from HR are really enjoying spending time with Officers on site. We aim to have delivered a cake to every employee by the end of our 25th year in December, as well as more Anniversary celebrations soon to be revealed!

June News

Carrying on the trend this year for starting a new contract each month, we were excited to start work for two brand new clients on 1st June. Manning busy distribution centres for both, our mobilisation teams worked hard to get everything in place for takeover. We welcomed 15 new Brighthouse-600.jpgstaff by TUPE transfer on these contracts, and we are delighted to have them join our team.

June is always a busy month for our Events Staff; we had teams covering Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and a range of sporting events.

At the beginning of June we received the exciting news that two of our officers had been chosen as Regional Winners for the BSIA Awards. Having been members of the BSIA for over 10 years and being strong supporters of their work, we were very excited that our officers have been recognised for the outstanding work they do daily. Allan was Regional Winner in the Service to Customer category, and Imran took the prize for Outstanding Act. The regional presentation was held at our Solihull Head Office and was attended by many of our Managers and Directors who all took time to congratulate our winners.MIMEXPO-Pic-1-600.jpg

MAN Commercial are patrons of Made In the Midlands, and we enjoyed exhibiting at their annual Expo at the Coventry Ricoh Arena in June. The Expo invites all Made in the Midlands Members to exhibit and is attended by over 2000 visitors from the engineering industry. It was a great opportunity to hand out promotional packs, meet lots of new contacts and enjoy networking.

Our team all worked really hard om ensuring we passed the audit with ease, and received praise from the auditors for the new processes and practises we have put in place this year, as well as our attention to the new GDPR regulation.

We have been saying for sometime we would like to do something special in our 25th year that involves all of our staff throughout the country; it is so important to us here at MAN that our teams feel engaged and valued wherever they are based. With this in mind we designed and had made our very special 25thAnninversary Cupcakes! We will be visiting sites over the next few months to deliver the cakes. Pictured are our team at Bright House in Manchester receiving theirs.
