The 2022 Women in Security Awards took place on 10th November at Shakespeare’s Underglobe Theatre in London. The black tie event, at which MAN Commercial Protection was a proud sponsor, was a truly decadent occasion, with a champagne reception followed by a delicious 3-course dinner with entertainment, including the awards ceremony itself.
The Professional Security Magazine’s Women in Security Awards are the security industry’s only awards dedicated to our female talent, and recognise the accomplishments and contribution of women within the vast security sector.
A team of 10 MAN Commercial management attended on the night, keen to support HR Director Traci McCallister, who had made the shortlist of 3 in the Business Manager of the Year category. The team enjoyed networking, socialising and cheering Traci on when it came to the winners being announced.
“I was over the moon to be nominated,” said Traci, “The event was fantastic and as a huge supporter of women in our industry, it made me proud to hear the winners stories and what my female counterparts are achieving.”
This year the award judges received a record number of nominations, and the task to whittle down to a top 3 in each category was tough. With so many amazing women, the awards committee have launched the ‘Women In Security Academy.’
Launching In January, the Academy is a networking platform for all finalists and winners, to inspire creativity and benefit the industry. The members of the Academy will be known as ‘WiS Academy Influencers’. The influencers will be mentored by a board of industry experts, guiding them to go on and become mentors themselves.
Traci McCallister is looking forward to her new role as a WiS influencer, saying, “I am and always have been extremely passionate about women working in the security sector and encouraging more women to join us. I am working on a number of projects at MAN Commercial, including free training opportunities for women and flexible working. I can’t wait to work with the other influencers to share the real benefits of our industry and push forward.”
